Dorados de Sinaloa 2-1 FC Juárez
Dorados de Sinaloa earned their first victory in all competitions in 2016 with a 2-1 victory over FC Juárez on Tuesday night. However, Juárez still claimed the bonus Llave point with their 3-2 aggregate victory. It was the visitors who took the lead in this one, with Mario Ortiz putting Juárez in front in the 30th minute with a precise header.
But Dorados fought back in the second half. In the 47th minute, José López – who had entered the game at halftime – tied the match with a header of his own. The equalizer inspired Sinaloa, who began to dominate the game. In the 71st minute, they made their dominance count when Milton Caraglio headed home a set piece to give them the 2-1 lead. Dorados had a golden opportunity to seal the victory in the 78th minute, but Wilson Morelo saw his penalty kick saved by Yair Urbina.
Chivas de Guadalajara 1-0 Leones Negros
Chivas de Guadalajara defeated Leones Negros by the minimum difference on Wednesday night, and also claimed the bonus Llave point with their 2-0 aggregate victory. All of the action – the lone goal and two red cards – came in the second half of what was a very physical match.
Leones Negros finished the game with nine men and without their coach as Daniel Guzmán was ejected from the sidelines in the 56th minute before Alberto Jorge and Daniel Guzmán Jr. received red cards in the 68th and 75th minutes. With a two-man advantage, Chivas found the winning goal through Ángel Zaldívar in the 81st minute.
