logo necaxaAfter a 2-0 (3-0 aggregate) victory over FC Juárez in the Final por el Ascenso Promotion Playoff, Necaxa will be returning to the first division after a five-year absence.

FC Juárez went on the attack from the opening kick in Saturday’s second leg, looking to overturn the first-leg deficit in front of their home fans. The Bravos had the ball in the back of the net in the 23rd minute through Leandro Carrijo, but the would-be goal was disallowed for offside.

Necaxa slowly got into the game and in the 55th minute the Rayos made it 0-1 (0-2 aggregate) through Luis Gallegos, who received the ball in his own half, drove up field, and shot from just outside the box to give the visitors the lead.

FC Juárez pushed their lines forward as they looked for a response, but Necaxa was able to control the ball and the game. In the 88th minute, Jorge Sánchez ensured the result with his goal to make it 0-2 (0-3).

With the victory, Necaxa has won promotion to Liga MX while FC Juárez will remain in the Liga de Ascenso.
