Pre-Apertura 2016 Roster Changes: León

Logo LeonLeón finished 3rd in the Clausura 2016 season, reaching the playoffs and defeating Morelia in the quarterfinals before falling to their sibling club, eventual champion Pachuca, in the semis.

After enjoying a strong Clausura campaign, La Fiera haven’t made too many changes ahead of the Apertura, with five players coming in and four leaving.

Three players have arrived on loan from within Liga MX: Osvaldo Rodríguez (Pachuca), Carlos Guzmán (Tijuana), and Christian Valdez (Puebla). León has also brought in Andrés Andrade (América) from within the league, but on a permanent transfer. Finally, Colombian midfielder Alexander Mejía arrives from Atlético Nacional.

In terms of departures, José Juan Vázquez and Jorge Enríquez have both gone to Chivas de Guadalajara, Vázquez on a transfer and Enríquez on loan. Marcos Caicedo has been loaned to Barcelona Sporting Club in his native Ecuador, while Marco Bueno has left the club at the end of his loan spell.
