The Gallos Blancos’ poor season has also dropped them into the relegation conversation, as Querétaro will start the Apertura 2016 in 13th place in the Tabla de Cociente – but they still have a sizable lead on 17th-placed Monarcas Morelia, which they will look to build upon here.
Querétaro hasn’t made very many roster moves to date, with just four players coming in and three going out.
Andrés Rentería has made the move from Santos Laguna, while Neri Cardozo (Monterrey) and Armando Zamorano (Morelia) both arrive on loan. In addition, Chilean striker Patricio Rubio has returned from Universidad de Chile after the end of his loan spell.
In terms of departures, Yasser Corona has transferred to Tijuana, while Luis Madrigal (Monterrey) and Sinha (Toluca) have returned to their parent clubs after the end of their loan spells.
