Monarcas Morelia saw off 10-man Alebrijes de Oaxaca with a comfortable 3-0 win on Wednesday night. Carlos Nava was sent off in the 19th minute, and Morelia, who had not looked threatening up to that point, took the lead seven minutes later through Jefferson Cuero. Oaxaca didn’t let the numerical disadvantage discourage them, though, and they kept pressing in search of an equalizer.

It looked like Morelia would put the game out of reach in the 51st minute when they earned a penalty kick. But goalkeeper Lucero Álvarez made the save on Luis Gabriel Rey to keep Alebrijes within a goal. The extra man tilted the game in Morelia’s favor, though, and they finally put the game away with goals in the 75th and 76th minutes from Miguel Sansores and Diego Valdés. With the 3-0 win, Morelia reaches three points while Alebrijes remain on one.

Dorados de Sinaloa 1-2 Querétaro – Group 8
After a lengthy weather delay that stopped the game for nearly two hours, Querétaro earned a come-from-behind 1-2 victory over Dorados de Sinaloa in Group 8 play. The hosts took the lead just three minutes into the match when Jesús Angulo pounced on a loose ball in the box and beat Édgar Hernández to make it 1-0. But the Gallos Blancos tied it up in the 25th, when Camilo Sanvezzo scored direct from a free kick to make it 1-1.

In the waning moments of the game, Querétaro completed the comeback. In the 88th minute, Dionicio Escalante sent the ball home from close range to make it 1-2. With the 1-2 win, Querétaro reaches three points while Dorados remain on zero.

On a rainy night in Guadalajara, Leones Negros and Cruz Azul drew 2-2 in their Group 3 match. The hosts took the lead in the 7th minute, when Francisco Rodríguez assisted Jorge Mora, but Cruz Azul tied it up in the 19th. Joao Rojas tried his luck from outside the box and put the ball into the upper left-hand corner to make it 1-1.

In the second half, Óscar Becerra was called for a handball in the box and Joao Rojas stepped up to take the penalty. Humberto Hernández made the initial save, but Rojas converted the rebound to put La Máquina ahead, 1-2. However, in the final moments of the game Leones came up with an equalizer, with Daniel Amador making it 2-2 in stoppage time. With the 2-2 draw, Leones Negros reach one point while Cruz Azul reaches four.

Santos Laguna 1-1 FC Juárez – Group 7
Santos Laguna took the lead but couldn’t hold it as they settled for a 1-1 draw with FC Juárez on a rainy night in the Estadio Corona. The weather had an effect on the game, with neither team able to create too many chances. But in the 19th minute, Santos had the chance to open the scoring from the penalty spot, and Jonathan Rodríguez buried the spot kick to make it 1-0.

Juárez made some attacking substitutions in the second half, and they paid off in the 86th minute. Leandro Carrijo beat Agustín Marchesín to make it 1-1 late on, and neither team was able to go on to find a game winner. With the 1-1 draw, Santos reaches one point while Juárez reaches four.
