Apertura 2016 Week 4 Preview: Friday’s Game

liga mxVeracruz vs América – 10:00 PM – Azteca America
Veracruz (11th) fell 1-0 to Atlas last weekend to remain winless on the road. That loss was highly controversial, with the ball going out of play before ending up in the net for the winning goal, and the Tiburones Rojos will have a chip on their shoulder here because of that. Veracruz has been shutout twice and has only scored twice this season, but both of those goals came at home. They will look to keep their home winning streak alive in this one.

As for América (5th), the Águilas fell 0-3 to Tigres UANL last weekend to bring their perfect start to the season to an abrupt halt. América will now hit the road for the first time in the Apertura after their three-game homestand, and they will look to get back to winning ways as they do so. The Águilas were affected last weekend by an early red card to Renato Ibarro, who was cleared by the Disciplinary Committee and will be available for this match.
