Despite combining for 30 shots (15 on goal), neither Chivas de Guadalajara nor Querétaro could find the breakthrough as they played out a 0-0 draw on Saturday night. The result keeps the Gallos Blancos unbeaten this season.
Chivas had the first good chance of the game in just the 4th minute, when Edwin Hernández’s shot forced a good save out of Thiago Volpi. The Brazilian netminder was then called into action to deny Javier López.
However, Chivas has only scored once in league play to date and tonight proved to not be their night either, despite dominating play in the first half.
In the second half, Ángel Zaldívar let a golden opportunity escape after a mistake by Volpi left the ball there for the taking, but the 22-year-old put his shot wide with the empty net gaping in front of him.
With the 0-0 draw, Chivas reaches four points while Querétaro reaches eight.
