copa corona mxCafetaleros de Tapachula 1-1 Jaguares de Chiapas – Group 2
Cafetaleros took the lead but couldn’t hold it as they drew 1-1 with Jaguares to remain winless – but also unbeaten – in the Copa MX this season. The hosts looked the more dangerous team in the first half and Abraham Carreño missed a great chance in the 27th minute when he was one-on-one with the keeper. But then Óscar Sánchez scored a golazo in the 35th minute to give Cafetaleros the 1-0 lead.

They came within minutes of closing out the game, but in the 89th minute Martín Zúñiga pounced on a loose ball and sent it home to tie the game 1-1. His night ended on a sour note, however, as he was red-carded in stoppage time.

With the 1-1 draw, Cafetaleros reach three points while Jaguares reach five.

Celaya 1-1 León – Group 1
Celaya took the lead but couldn’t hold it as they drew 1-1 with León on Wednesday night. The draw leaves Celaya unbeaten but still looking for their first win, while León is also unbeaten. The first half was very even, with few goalscoring chances for either side, and the game remained goalless at halftime.

In the 66th minute, Alfredo Moreno, who had recently come on as a sub, made it 1-0 for Celaya with his half-volley from the edge of the box. However, the lead lasted just six minutes before Elías Hernández tied it up with his shot from distance.

With the 1-1 draw, Celaya reaches three points while León reaches five.

Coras Tepic 1-4 Cruz Azul – Group 3
Cruz Azul earned a comprehensive 1-4 victory against Coras Tepic to remain atop Group 3. La Máquina took the lead early, with Jonathan Cristaldo making it 0-1 in the 12th minute when he received the ball with his back to goal, turned, and fired past Alejandro Arana. But Coras soon tied it. In the 18th minute, Marco Granados finished off a rebound to level the game.

But after the equalizer, Cruz Azul took control. Cristaldo restored their lead when he received a through ball, and although the visitors had less possession in the second half they were able to hold on to the lead. Finally, in the 89th minute, they added to it from the penalty spot, with Francisco Silva making it 1-3. Then, in stoppage time, the unfortunate Giovanni León sent the ball into his own net, with his own-goal making it 1-4.

With the 1-4 win, Cruz Azul reaches seven points while Coras Tepic remains on three.

Tijuana 1-1 Lobos BUAP – Group 6
Lobos BUAP took the lead early on but couldn’t hold it as they settled for a 1-1 draw with Tijuana that keeps them unbeaten in the Copa MX to date. Lobos opened the scoring in just the 8th minute. The initial attempt, a header by Daniel Porozo, was stopped by the goalkeeper, but the rebound fell for Marco Iván Pérez, who made it 0-1.

Tijuana tied it up just six minutes later, though. An error by Luis Michel left the ball loose in the box and Amando Moreno was there to tie it 1-1 in the 14th minute. In the second half, both teams threw numbers forward in search of a winning goal, but neither could find the breakthrough.

With the 1-1 draw, Tijuana reaches four points while Lobos reach five.
