León created chances from the opening whistle, with Luis Montes, Elías Hernández, and Darío Hernán Burbano all looking dangerous. Then, in the 18th minute, La Fiera took the lead when Hernández sent in a cross for Mauro Boselli at the far post. Boselli’s header made it 1-0 for León and snapped their 444-minute goalless run in league play.
However, Querétaro kept pressing after falling behind and they found the equalizer before halftime. In the 38th minute, Jonathan Bornstein headed the ball into the corner to make it 1-1.
León retook the lead soon after the break, however, with a combination between Montes and Hernández ending with Boselli scoring his second of the night in the 52nd minute.
La Fiera continued to press for another goal as they looked to put the game to bed, which left space for Querétaro to exploit. However, the closest they could come to an equalizer was a free kick that went just over the crossbar.
With the 2-1 win, León reaches four points while Querétaro remains on nine.
