A 90th-minute goal snatched a point for Toluca as the Diablos Rojos drew 2-2 with Monarcas Morelia. The result keeps Toluca unbeaten in four but winless in three, while Morelia are now unbeaten in six.
Raúl Ruidíaz took another step towards the top of the individual goalscoring charts when he opened the scoring in the 18th minute in the Estadio Alberto Chivo Córdoba. The Peruvian got into the box, drew out Alfredo Talavera, and saw his effort deflect in off the unfortunate Paulo da Silva to make it 0-1 fo the visitors.
However, Toluca found the equalizer before halftime. In the 32nd minute, Enrique Triverio received the ball from Pablo Barrientos, got around his defender, and sent his left-footed shot past Carlos Felipe Rodríguez to make it 1-1.
Morelia retook the lead in the second half. In the 64th minute, David Cabrera received the ball on the edge of the box and sent his left-footed shot past Talavera on the half-volley to make it 1-2 for the michoacanos.
Toluca nearly tied it up in the 75th minute but were denied by the woodwork as Da Silva’s header hit the crossbar.
However, in the final moments of the match they found their reward. Erbin Trejo sent in a cross for Fernando Uribe, whose header made it 2-2 in the 90th minute.
With the 2-2 draw, Toluca reaches seven points while Morelia reaches 12.
