Veracruz vs Monarcas Morelia – 10:00 PM – Azteca America
Veracruz (14th) beat Pachuca 1-0 last weekend to end a five-game winless streak. The Tiburones Rojos will now look to build on that success in their second consecutive home game. Veracruz is unbeaten in two in the Estadio Luis Pirata Fuente and they will look to take advantage of their opponent’s porous defense here. They were active in midweek as well, with a 1-1 draw with Santos Laguna in the Copa MX.
As for Monarcas Morelia (7th), La Monarquía fell 0-2 to Tigres UANL last weekend to end their six-game unbeaten run and their season-long home unbeaten run. They will now look to get back to winning ways on the road, where they are unbeaten in three. Morelia has the second-best attacking record in the league with 15 goals for, but they’ve also allowed the most goals in the league, nearly two per game on average. They did post a shutout in midweek, though, with a 4-0 win over Murciélagos in the Copa MX.
