Ricardo La Volpe Announced as América Coach

After mutually parting ways with Nacho Ambriz earlier this week, Club América has hired his replacement: Ricardo La Volpe.

The colorful Argentinian manager is joined by assistant coach Rafael García and physical trainer Alejandro Martín López.

La Volpe, 64, has a long history in Mexican soccer, having managed Atlante, Chivas de Guadalajara, Querétaro, Atlas, Toluca, Monterrey, and Jaguares de Chiapas, among others, at one point or another. He has also coached the Mexican national team.

La Volpe’s first game in charge of the Águilas will be this Saturday’s Jornada 11 match against Pumas UNAM in the Clásico Capitalino.
