Apertura 2016 Week 13 Preview: Friday’s Game

liga mxVeracruz vs León – 10:00 PM – Azteca America
Veracruz (16th) fell 5-3 to Cruz Azul last time out to extend their losing streak to four games. The Tiburones Rojos also have a two-game home losing streak going and have won just one of their last five matches in the Luis Pirata Fuente. They need to turn things around quickly if they want to have any chance of climbing into the playoff places, but the suspensions of Gabriel Peñalba and Matías Cahais will makes things even more difficult for Veracruz.

As for León (12th), La Fiera beat Tigres UANL 3-2 last time out to extend their unbeaten streak to five games. León is also unbeaten in two on the road and they have been moving steadily up the table after a poor start to the season. They haven’t been too prolific in front of goal – they’re averaging just over a goal a game – but Veracruz has the second worst defensive record in the league and León will look to take advantage of that here.
