Toluca vs Pumas UNAM – 1:00 PM – Univision / Univision Deportes
Toluca (7th) fell 3-1 to Necaxa last time out to keep them winless in two. The Diablos Rojos are unbeaten this season in the Estadio Alberto Chiva Córdoba, however, with two wins and three draws. They’ll look to keep that streak alive here. Toluca has been very good defensively at home, where they’ve given up less than a goal per game on average, and they’ll look to build from the back in this one.
As for Pumas UNAM (4th), the universitarios beat Jaguares de Chiapas 1-0 last time out to extend their home winning streak to six games. Pumas are perfect at home this season, but it’s quite the opposite on the road, where they are winless. They have four losses and two draws on their travels, where they’ve managed just four goals to date. They’ll look to finally snap that poor away form here.
Puebla vs Chivas de Guadalajara – 7:00 PM – Univision Deportes
Puebla (9th) drew 1-1 with Pachuca last time out to remain unbeaten in three. Puebla are unbeaten in two at home as well and they’ll look to get back to winning ways in this one. They’ve drawn more home games than they’ve won, although they’ve been hard to beat in the Estadio Cuauhtémoc with just one loss. The Poblanos also have one of the better goalscoring records in the league, with 20 goals to date, but they’ve conceded nearly as many. They’ll look for a good defensive performance in this one against a team that hasn’t scored very many on the road.
As for Chivas de Guadalajara (5th), el Rebaño beat Monarcas Morelia 2-1 last time out to give them back-to-back wins. They’ve won three of their last four away games as well, and they’ll look to build on that streak here. As noted, Chivas doesn’t have the best goalscoring record on the road – or overall, for that matter – but they do have the third-best defensive record in the league. They’ve also shown they know how to win on the road.
