Immediately following Cruz Azul’s Jornada 14 loss to Puebla, Tomás Boy went to the locker room to bid farewell to the players. Boy’s departure is “by mutual agreement and on the best terms,” according to a press release published by the club.
Boy took charge of La Máquina just over a year ago during the Apertura 2015 season. Cruz Azul was in 16th when he took charge and they finished the season in 14th. In the Clausura 2016, they finished 9th.
He leaves them sitting in 13th in the current Apertura 2016 season, pending the rest of this weekend’s games, with 16 points.
