santos atlasA stoppage-time goal allowed Atlas to snatch a 2-2 draw against Santos Laguna. The result leaves the Laguneros winless in five, while Atlas snapped a three-game road losing streak – although they still have yet to win on their travels this season.

There were few chances in the early going, aside from a spectacular miss by Djaniny Tavares in the 9th minute and a bit of controversy in the 15th. Martín Barragán went down in the box asking for a penalty, but instead referee Óscar Macías carded him for simulation.

The opening goal came in the 37th minute, when Cándido Ramírez finished off a cross from Bryan Garnica to put the visitors ahead 0-1.

But Santos was able to tie the game just before halftime, as Carlos Izquierdoz headed home a corner kick to make it 1-1 in the 43rd minute.

It was deja vu in the second half, as Izquierdoz headed home another corner kick in the 50th minute to put Santos ahead 2-1.

Atlas looked for an equalizer, but they lacked precision in front of goal. They came close in the 74th minute, when Daniel Arreola got his head to a free kick, but his attempt hit the crossbar.

Then, with Santos just seconds away from their first win since mid-September, Edson Rivera appeared to finish off a free kick and give Atlas the 92nd-minute equalizer.
