Andrés Guardado to Miss Qualifier vs Panama

red crossFriday’s victory over the United States didn’t come without a price, as El Tri will be short two players for Tuesday’s qualifier against Panama.

Andrés Guardado was forced out of Friday’s match with an injury, which was later revealed to be a hamstring pull. The midfielder expects to be out for three to four weeks and noted that it has been an injury he’s had to deal with throughout his career.

Guardado was subbed out on Friday for Carlos Salcedo, who will also miss Tuesday’s game, although for a different reason: suspension rather than injury. Salcedo received a yellow card in the 75th minute for a foul on Christian Pulisic, and then another one in stoppage time for time wasting, resulting in his ejection and subsequent one-game suspension.

Mexico will visit Panama on Tuesday, November 15th, with kickoff set for 9:05 PM Eastern.
