Liga MX Apertura 2016 Playoffs Set

liga mxThe eight finalists are known and the seeds are set. Tijuana, Pachuca, Tigres UANL, Chivas de Guadalajara, América, Pumas UNAM, Necaxa, and León will now face off for the Apertura 2016 title.

The quarterfinals will begin this week, with the first legs held on Wednesday and Thursday and the return legs coming over the weekend. There is a clásico in this round, with Chivas de Guadalajara and América squaring off in the Superclásico. 

The complete matchups are as follows:

Tijuana (1) vs (8) León
Pachuca (2) vs (7) Necaxa
Tigres UANL (3) vs (6) Pumas UNAM
Chivas de Guadalajara (4) vs América (5)

The quarterfinals are total goals, aggregate score series. Away goals are tiebreakers. Should both the aggregate and the away goals be tied at the end of the second leg, the higher seed will advance.

The quarterfinal schedule is as follows; all times Eastern, home team listed first.
