Disciplinary Report: Apertura 2016 Week 17

disciplinary reportThe Disciplinary Committee has suspended three players and upheld a red card appeal in the aftermath of this weekend’s Jornada 17 games.

All three suspensions were given to Puebla players. Francisco Torres was suspended one game for serious foul play; Patricio Araujo will miss a game for denial of a clear goal-scoring opportunity; and Jerónimo Amione earned his own suspension for yellow-card accumulation after picking up his fifth caution of the season.

As Puebla did not qualify for the playoffs, the suspensions will carry over to the first game of the Clausura 2017 season.

Finally, Necaxa successfully appealed the red card given to Edson Puch, which means that the striker is cleared to play in the Rayos’ quarterfinal first leg match against Pachuca on Thursday.
