After a year with Chivas de Guadalajara, Carlos Peña has been loaned back to his former club, León.
Fans, we have great news: @G27Gullit returns home. Welcome!
“Gullit” saw his playing time at Chivas decrease in the Apertura; he played in 12 games but started just four, scoring one goal. In the Clausura 2016, his first season with Guadalajara, he played in 17 games, starting 13, and scored seven goals.
With Chivas shopping Peña around – a negotiation with Querétaro fell through – León was happy to reclaim their former player. Peña joined León in 2011 when La Fiera was still in Ascenso MX and moved up to the first division with them.
The 26-year-old midfielder made 152 appearances for León and scored 42 goals for them in his first stint with the club.
