The quarterfinals of the 2016 FIFA Club World Cup get underway this Sunday, with Korea’s Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors taking on Mexico’s Club América. That match will be followed by South Africa’s Mamelodi Sundowns versus Japan’s Kashima Antlers.
This is América’s third appeareance in the Club World Cup and Jeonbuk’s second. The two previously faced off in the 2006 edition, where América earned a 1-0 victory in the quarterfinal round.
The Águilas will be looking to improve on last year’s disappointing fifth-place finish, while Jeonbuk will look to avenge their 2006 defeat.
In the other semifinal, Mamelodi and Kashima are both making their first appearances in the tournament.
