Then, on Thursday, Mexico’s Club América will take on Spain’s Real Madrid.
Atlético Nacional and Kashima Antlers are both making their first appearances in this competition and both would love to make it to the final. This will be Atlético’s first game, while Kashima has already dispatched Auckland City (NZL) and Mamelodi Sundowns (RSA).
América and Real Madrid are both making their third appearances; Madrid has one championship under their belt (2014) while América’s best finish was fourth in 2006. No Mexican team has ever finished higher than third, and América will look to make history by upsetting Madrid to reach the final.
All times Eastern.
