Disciplinary Report: Clausura 2017 Week 1

disciplinary reportThe Disciplinary Committee has suspended two players and opened two investigations in the aftermath of this weekend’s Jornada 1 games.

Franco Jara, who won and converted a penalty in Pachuca’s 2-4 victory over León, was judged to have simulated the foul that led to the PK. For “deceiving the referee and as a result giving his team a direct benefit in the result of the game”, Jara was given a one-game suspension.

Foul or flop? Decide for yourselves:

The other suspension went to Luis Robles of Atlas, who received the lone red card of the weekend for serious foul play.

The Disciplinary Committee is also investigating an incident between León’s Diego Novaretti and Pachuca’s Hirving Lozano that was missed by the officials but captured by the television cameras, namely Novaretti spitting on Lozano.

There was also an incident in the tunnel after the Puebla/Monterrey game with Puebla players remonstrating with the referee, who awarded a late, match-winning penalty to the Rayados. That, too, is under investigation.
