Disciplinary Report: Clausura 2017 Week 2

disciplinary reportThe Disciplinary Committee has suspended seven players and one coach in the aftermath of this weekend’s Jornada 2 games.

For receiving two yellow cards in the same match, Luis Noriega of Querétaro, Jair Pereira of Chivas de Guadalajara, and Nicolás Castillo of Pumas UNAM were all given one-game suspensions.

For serious foul play, Gabriel Peñalba of Cruz Azul, José Juan Vázquez of Chivas, and Cristian Pellerano of Veracruz were all given one-game suspensions. Cruz Azul had filed a petition of non-conformity regarding Peñalba’s red card, but the Disciplinary Committee overturned it.

Rounding out the player sanctions, Robert Herrera of Puebla was also given a one-game suspension for denial of a clear goal-scoring opportunity.

Finally, Pablo Marini, coach of Monarcas Morelia, was given a one-game suspension for constantly protesting the referee crew’s decisions.
