The first half was a rather dire affair, with neither team registering a single shot on goal through 45 minutes. Puebla at least had a few attempts, although they were all wayward. Their best opportunity came in the 15th minute when a rebound fell to David Toledo, but his volley was off the mark.
Querétaro made two halftime changes as they looked to generate some offense in the second stanza, but it did the Gallos Blancos little good.
The first shot on goal came in the 75th minute, when Christian Esparza’s attempt was stopped by Tiago Volpi. Querétaro’s lone shot on goal came in the 81st minute, but Cristian Campestrini was there to punch away the shot from distance.
A minute later, Puebla managed to put the ball in the back of the net, but their would-be goal was disallowed for offside. The whistle had already blown before Federico González even took the shot.
With the 0-0 draw, Puebla reaches one point while Querétaro reaches two.
