Pumas UNAM vs Pachuca – 1:00 PM – Univision / Univision Deportes
Pumas UNAM (2nd) beat Necaxa 3-1 last weekend to extend their winning streak to three games. The universitarios are also not only unbeaten but perfect at home this season, and they will look to move into first place in the table with another victory in this one. Pumas are tied for the third-most prolific attack in the league, but they are one of the most consistent attacking sides and have scored in every game to date.
As for Pachuca (5th), the Tuzos drew 0-0 with Toluca last weekend to remain unbeaten at home but winless in two overall. They’ll look to get back to winning ways in this one, but they’ve been having goal scoring trouble for the past few weeks: after netting four in their opening match, they’ve scored just once in the three games since. On the other hand, their defense has been good, with just three goals conceded overall. They’ll need to recover their final touch sooner rather than later, however.
Chivas de Guadalajara vs Santos Laguna – 5:00 PM – Univision Deportes
Chivas de Guadalajara (6th) beat Querétaro 0-1 last weekend to keep them unbeaten on the road this season and also end a two-game winless streak. They won in midweek as well, with a 0-1 victory against Venados in the Copa MX. Those results both came on the road, however; Chivas lost their last home game. But they’ll look to put that behind them as they return to the Estadio Chivas for this one.
As for Santos Laguna (3rd), the Laguneros beat Puebla 2-0 last weekend to remain unbeaten this season as well as perfect at home. Santos has yet to win on the road, however, with two draws on their travels. They’ll look for their first road victory in this one as they aim to climb even closer to the top of the table, and they will be the better rested side as they did not have a midweek game.
