Pumas UNAM vs Tijuana – 1:00 PM – Univision Deportes
Pumas UNAM (7th) fell 2-0 to Monterrey last weekend to end their four-game unbeaten streak. The universitarios are still unbeaten at home, however, and they will look to get back to winning ways when they return to the Estadio Olímpico Universitario for this one. Pumas don’t have the best attacking record, however, and they’ve scored one or fewer goals in five of their six games this season.
As for Tijuana (2nd), the Xolos fell 1-2 to Necaxa last weekend to end their four-game winning streak. That loss dropped Tijuana out of first place and they’ll look to get back there with another win here. The Xolos have a two-game road winning streak going and they have the best attacking record in the league with 13 goals scored to date.
Puebla vs Jaguares de Chiapas – 5:00 PM – Univision Deportes
Puebla (18th) drew 0-0 with América last weekend to keep them unbeaten in two. However, the Poblanos are still winless in league play this season – three draws and three losses – although they did beat Mineros de Zacatecas 1-0 in the Copa MX in midweek. Puebla has scored just one goal in their last four games, and on the other hand they have the worst defensive record in the league with 12 goals conceded. Puebla needs to start winning as soon as possible to avoid slipping down the relegation standings, and they’ll look to right the ship when they return to the Estadio Cuauhtémoc for this one.
As for Jaguares de Chiapas (9th), they fell 1-2 to Monarcas Morelia last weekend and will now square up against another relegation rival in this one. All of Jaguares’ games have been decided by just a single goal, and they will look to take advantage of Puebla’s defensive difficulties to earn a more convincing win in this one. They were also active in the Copa MX in midweek, where they beat Necaxa 1-2.
