Four months after the conclusion of the group stage, the 2016-17 CONCACAF Champions League gets back underway this week with the first legs of the quarterfinals.
Three of Mexico’s four entrants advanced to the quarterfinals, and Liga MX is guaranteed to have at least one semifinalist after Pumas UNAM and Tigres UANL were drawn against each other. The other Mexican representative, Pachuca, will face Costa Rica’s Deportivo Saprissa.
The lower seeds will host the first leg, which sees Pachuca visiting Saprissa and Tigres hosting Pumas.
The quarterfinals are a total-goals, aggregate-score series. Away goals are tiebreakers. Should the aggregate and away goals be tied at the end of the second leg, the games will advance to extra time and then penalties if needed.
All times Eastern.
