Atlante took the lead but couldn’t hold it as Chivas de Guadalajara came from behind to earn a 1-3 away win in this Group 6 match. The victory ensures Chivas will advance to the knockout rounds of the Copa MX. The opening goal came in the 24th minute through Fernando Espinosa, whose shot from the center of the box made it 1-0.

Chivas had to wait until the second half to find a goal of their own, with Carlos Fierro making it 1-1 in the 61st minute. A few minutes later, both teams were reduced to 10 men with the sending offs of Carlos Cauich and Hedgardo Marín. Ultimately it was Chivas who took advantage of the extra space on the field, with goals from Eduardo López in the 84th minute and Michelle Benítez in stoppage time to give them the 1-3 victory.

With the 1-3 win, Chivas reaches 10 points while Atlante still has four.

Potros UAEM 1-2 Necaxa (Group 5)
Necaxa booked their place in the knockout rounds of the Copa MX with a 1-2 away win over Potros UAEM in Group 5 play. The visitors took the lead in the 19th minute after Maximiliano Barreiro pounced on the rebound from a Gibrant García shot to make it 0-1 with his volley. Minutes later, Alexander Maturana made it 0-2 to put the Rayos in control of the game.

In the second half, Potros pressed forward as they looked to get back into the game. In the 53rd minute, they hit the crossbar and Luis Medina was alert to the rebound to make it 1-2 and reduce the deficit for Potros. The hosts had a few chances to tie the game, but Yosgart Gutiérrez made several important saves to preserve Necaxa’s lead.

With the 1-2 win, Necaxa reaches seven points while Potros still have three.

Celaya 1-1 Veracruz (Group 8)
Both Celaya and Veracruz remain winless in the Copa MX after playing out a 1-1 draw in this Group 8 game. This was the last game of the group stage for the Tiburones Rojos, and they needed a win to realistically keep their hopes of reaching the knockout stage alive. With that in mind, the visitors came out pressing, although they ran into a defense wall from Celaya. Then, in the second half, the hosts took the lead. In the 49th minute, Alfredo Moreno sent his shot into the upper left-hand corner to make it 1-0.

But the lead lasted just three minutes before Veracruz tied the game. In the 53nd minute, Darvin Chávez got his head to a corner kick to make it 1-1. After that exchange of goals, the game leveled out and chances tapered off. Jonathan Lacerda had the best opportunity to find a winning goal with his header, but goalkeeper Pedro Gallese intervened.

With the 1-1 draw, Celaya reaches two points while Veracruz reaches three.

Dorados de Sinaloa 0-5 Monterrey (Group 7)
Monterrey remained perfect in the Copa MX with their 0-5 dismantling of Dorados de Sinaloa. The loss is a fourth consecutive one for Dorados in this tournament and sees them end their participation in the group stage with no points and a -12 goal difference.

Despite the impressive scoreline, it took the Rayados 55 minutes to break the deadlock. The first goal came through Nicolás Sánchez, whose header made it 0-1. Six minutes later, Yimmi Chara made it 0-2 and Dorados were unable to respond. Monterrey kept pressing and Arturo González made it three in the 76th minute. Then two of the substitutes got on the board with late goals as Edwin Cardona scored in the 84th and Rogelio Funes Mori in the 89th.

With the 0-5 win, Monterrey reaches nine points while Dorados still have zero.

Correcaminos 0-1 Tijuana (Group 1)
Tijuana earned a 0-1 away win over Correcaminos to put them atop a very tight Group 1 table. The win puts the Xolos in good position to advance to the knockout rounds, while Correcaminos must wait and see if they can get in as one of the best second-place teams. Tijuana was the more attack-minded of the two, while Correcaminos settled back into a strong defensive posture.

Despite the chances the Xolos created, their final touch was lacking – such as when Amando Moreno missed an empty net – and the game devolved into a midfield battle. Finally, in the 82nd minute, Tijuana opened the scoring. Substitute Víctor Malcorra saw his shot stopped by David Rambo, but the rebound fell to Henry Martín, who made it 0-1.

With the 0-1 win, Tijuana reaches six points while Correcaminos still have six.
