There are no unbeaten teams remaining after Santos Laguna suffered their first loss of the season.

In the relegation fight, Monarcas Morelia moved out of last place in the Tabla de Cociente for the first time this season with their 1-0 victory over Veracruz. That result dropped the Tiburones Rojos into last; relegation rivals Puebla and Jaguares de Chiapas both lost as well.

Tijuana still has the best attacking record in the league with their 20 goals for, followed by Monterrey and Pumas UNAM with 15 each. The worst attack is Veracruz’s, with just five goals to date, followed by Cruz Azul with eight.

In total, 24 goals were scored in Jornada 9 for an average of 2.67 per game.

In terms of individual goal-scoring, Nicolás Castillo (Pumas UNAM) leads the league with his six goals, followed by Dorlan Pabón (Monterrey) with five and then five players with four goals apiece.

On the other end of the field, the best defense belongs to Pachuca with their seven goals against, followed by Tigres UANL with eight. The worst defense is still León’s, with 16 goals against, closely followed by Puebla’s with 15.

On the disciplinary side of things, the referees handed out 37 yellows and six reds, to Tijuana, Cruz Azul, Querétaro, León, and Toluca (2). Santos Laguna tops the Fair Play table with their 13 yellows (tied for fewest in the league) and one red, while Toluca is at the foot of the Fair Play standings with their 31 yellows (the most in the league) and three reds. Toluca, Atlas, and Cruz Azul are tied for the most reds.

The total announced attendance for Jornada 9 was 269,441, for an average of 29,938 per game. Monterrey vs Querétaro in the Estadio BBVA Bancomer drew the biggest crowd, of 47,285, while just 13,130 were in the Estadio Azul to see Cruz Azul vs Jaguares.
