Copa MX Round of 16: Jaguares de Chiapas vs Puebla

Puebla earned a 2-3 away win against Jaguares de Chiapas in the Copa MX round of sixteen.

The Poblanos took the lead shortly before halftime, after having looked the better side for most of the game. In the 37th minute, Álvaro Navarro’s shot from the center of the box made it 0-1 for the visitors.

Just three minutes later, Carlos Orrantía made it 0-2 for Puebla with the help of a deflection off a Jaguares defender.

The hosts looked to respond in the second half, and in the 62nd minute Luis Miño was able to reduce the deficit to 1-2.

But Puebla restored their two-goal cushion just minutes later, when Navarro scored his second of the night to make it 1-3 in the 64th minute.

Jaguares were able to reduce the deficit once more when Félix Micolta converted a penalty kick in the 84th minute, but they were unable to go on to tie the game.

With the 2-3 win, Puebla advances to the quarterfinals while Jaguares are eliminated.
