In the 25th minute, Ulises Dávila sent in a cross that Julio César Furch brought down for Diego de Buen to tap home. 0-1.
The lead didn’t last long, however, with Necaxa tying the game from the penalty spot in the 27th minute through Maxi Barreiro.
In the second half, Santos dominated as they looked to restore their lead. In the 71st minute, substitute Jonathan Rodríguez put the Laguneros back in front with his golazo.
Then, Dávila found Furch for the definitive third goal in the 80th minute.
With the 1-3 win, Santos advances to the quarterfinals while Necaxa is eliminated.
