Tijuana vs Santos Laguna – Jornada 11 Recap and Highlights

Tijuana scored a stoppage-time goal to snatch a 1-1 draw against Santos Laguna in the opening game of matchweek 11. The result leaves the Xolos winless in two while the Laguneros are now winless in six.

The game started off well for the visitors, with Santos controlling the run of play in the early going. Ulises Rivas forced Gibran Lajud into a good save in the 20th minute, and two minutes after that Osvaldo Martínez gave them the lead with a shot from distance.

Tijuana nearly tied the game in the 34th minute, but Jonathan Orozco was able to make the save at point-blank range to keep Santos in the lead.

Orozco was a factor in the second half as well as he denied first halftime substitute Paul Arriola and then Milton Caraglio, whose header was goal-bound in the 59th minute.

The Xolos continued to press, even after they were reduced to 10 men when Guido Rodríguez received his second yellow card of the night, and they were rewarded in the final moments.

In the 92nd minute, Avilés Hurtado took a shot from distance; Orozco gave up a rebound; and Juan Lucero was there to finish it off and make it 1-1.

With the 1-1 draw, Tijuana reaches 17 points while Santos Laguna reaches 13.
