The game started off slowly, with both teams settling into a more cautious posture. It wasn’t until the half-hour mark that dangerous chances started to appear; the first good opportunity fell to the hosts, who mounted a dangerous counterattack. Luis Silva got around William Yarbrough, but couldn’t find the target from an acute angle.
In the second half, the game began to open up more. León looked to take advantage of the spaces that were appearing, but the final touch wasn’t there. On one occasion, Carlos Guzmán sent a good ball into the box for Mauro Boselli, who brought it down for Osvaldo Rodríguez, but he sent his shot over the bar.
Then, Luis Montes won the ball outside of the box and sent a shot towards the near post, but Moisés Muñoz was able to intervene with a good save.
Jaguares found another chance through Félix Micolta, who was played in by Jonathan Fabbro, but Micolta’s attempt went just wide of the far post.
In the waning moments of the game, Elías Hernández had an opportunity to win it for León, but after doing well to get into the box, he couldn’t put his shot on target.
With the 0-0 draw, Jaguares reach 14 points while León reaches 13.
