Tigres UANL vs Chivas de Guadalajara – Jornada 10 Recap and Highlights

Tigres UANL ended a three-game winless run with a 3-0 victory against Chivas de Guadalajara. The result ends a four-game unbeaten streak for El Rebaño and leaves them winless on the road in three.

The universitarios took an early lead and never looked back in this one. In just the 5th minute, André-Pierre Gignac headed home a corner kick to make it 1-0 for Tigres.

The hosts continued to control the game after taking the lead as they enjoyed the majority of possession. Chivas looked to get back into the game, but they were unable to do much to trouble Nahuel Guzmán.

In the second half, the substitutions of Jürgen Damm and Lucas Zelarayán added another dimension to Tigres’ attack as the hosts looked to put the game out of reach.

In the 73rd minute, Jesús Dueñas scored from the center of the box to give Tigres a more comfortable 2-0 lead.

Ten minutes after that, Gignac got on the scoresheet once again when he met a cross from Javier Aquino; his attempt went in off the post to make it 3-0.

Chivas was unable to reduce the deficit as a well-organized Tigres defense kept them from creating many chances.

With the 3-0 win, Tigres reach 16 points while Chivas still has 24.
