Guido Pizarro Undergoes Surgery on Broken Nose

A hard head-to-head collision in Tuesday night’s CONCACAF Champions League final first leg left Tigres UANL’s Guido Pizarro with a broken nose.

The incident occurred in the 17th minute, when Pizarro and Pachuca’s Óscar Murillo contested an aerial ball. Pizarro returned to the game after treatment but was eventually subbed out in the 56th minute.

Via Twitter, Tigres reported that Pizarro underwent surgery to align the fractured bone, but the club did not give a timeline for his return, instead stating that a prognosis was pending further evaluation.
