Disciplinary Report: Clausura 2017 Week 17

The Disciplinary Committee has suspended six players and one physical trainer in the aftermath of this weekend’s Jornada 17 games.

Jesús Méndez of Toluca will miss the Diablos Rojos’ first playoff game for a lack of respect towards the match officials; Djaniny Tavares and Walter Gael Sandoval, both of Santos Laguna, will likewise miss their quarterfinal first leg game due to serious foul play.

The other suspensions all go to players on teams that failed to make the playoffs, so they will be served during the first game of the Apertura 2017 season.

Those are: Francisco Silva of Cruz Azul and Neri Cardozo of Querétaro, for receiving two yellow cards in the same game; Manuel Iturra of Necaxa, for yellow-card accumulation after he picked up his 5th caution of the season; and Mauricio Marchetti, Pachuca’s physical trainer, for a lack of respect towards the match officials.
