Club Necaxa has parted ways with coach Luis Alfonso Sosa. In a press release, the Rayos indicated his departure was part of an overall restructuring at the club:
“Once the goals of promotion and remaining in the first division were achieved, we started a process of renovation that includes the conclusion of the great work contributed by Prof. Luis Alfonso Sosa as coach of Necaxa.”
The club highlighted the successes of the Sosa era, including an Ascenso MX championship, reaching the final of the Copa MX, and winning the Final de Ascenso promotion playoff.
Necaxa concluded the press release by saying that all members of the club, from players to directors, “deeply thank” Sosa and they wish him success in his future plans.
Sosa had taken over at Necaxa in November 2015, spending 18 months as coach of the club.
