Apertura 2017 Week 2 Preview: Sunday’s Games

Toluca vs León – 1:00 PM – Univision / Univision Deportes
Toluca (10th) drew 0-0 with Chivas de Guadalajara in their season opener. The point was not a bad one, considering the Diablos Rojos finished the game with just 10 men. They’ll be without the suspended Osvaldo González and their coach Hernán Crisante for this one, but they’ll nevertheless look to get their first win of the Apertura in their first home game here.

As for León (17th), La Fiera had another disappointing season opener as they fell 3-0 to Atlas. They’ll look for a better result in their first away game, and they did manage a win in midweek, although they had to come from behind to beat Alebrijes 3-2 in the Copa MX. León will be missing the suspended Diego Novaretti for this one.

Santos Laguna vs Tigres UANL – 7:30 PM – Univision Deportes
Santos Laguna (7th) came from behind to draw 2-2 with Lobos BUAP in their season opener, and they’ll now look to get their first win in their first home game. The Laguneros were active in midweek as well, where they beat Chivas de Guadalajara 2-0 in the Copa MX.

As for Tigres UANL (1st), the universitarios got their season off to a great start with a 5-0 thrashing of Puebla. They’ll look to keep the momentum going with another win in their first away game here, and they’ll have the advantage of some extra rest as, unlike Santos, they did not play in midweek.
