Disciplinary Report: Apertura 2017 Week 2

The Disciplinary Committee has suspended seven players, a coach, an assistant coach, and a physical trainer in the aftermath of this weekend’s Jornada 2 games.

The standout suspensions go to Alejandro Donatti of Tijuana and Miguel Ángel Ponce of Necaxa, who were both given two-game suspensions; Donatti for violent conduct and Ponce for serious foul play.

Guido Rodríguez of América, Adrián Aldrete of Cruz Azul, Edwin Hernández of Chivas de Guadalajara, and Enner Valencia of Tigres UANL were all given one-game suspensions for receiving two yellow cards in the same game.

Rounding out the player suspensions is José María Bastanta of Monterrey, who was given a one-game suspension for serious foul play.

In terms of technical staff, José Manuel de la Torre, coach of Santos Laguna; Juan Luna Eslava, assistant coach of Cruz Azul; and Julio Luis Muñoz, physical trainer of Cruz Azul, were all given one-game suspensions for constantly protesting the referee crew’s decisions.

Finally, Pachuca was fined after club president Jesús Martínez entered the referee’s dressing room after their game against América.
