Lobos BUAP vs Pachuca – 6:00 PM
Lobos BUAP (4th) earned a comprehensive 0-4 away win against Querétaro last weekend to keep the licántropos unbeaten this season. They’ll now look for their first home win when they return to the Estadio Universitario BUAP for this one. Lobos will be without injured goalkeeper Lucero Álvarez, but they’re tied for the most prolific attack in the league to date and they’ll look to keep their streak going here.
As for Pachuca (15th), the Tuzos fell 0-2 to América last weekend to remain winless, pointless, and goalless in league play. They did score – and win – in the Copa MX in midweek, a 0-1 win against Cimarrones. They’ll now look to get off the mark in league play against a surprisingly dangerous newly-promoted team.
Tigres UANL vs Querétaro – 8:00 PM – Galavision / ESPN Deportes
Tigres UANL (3rd) drew 1-1 with Santos Laguna last weekend to remain unbeaten in league play. They played out another 1-1 draw in midweek against Cruz Azul in the Copa MX, and they’ll be looking to get back to winning ways here. The universitarios are tied for the most-prolific attack in league play to date, but their leading goalscorer, Enner Valencia, is suspended for this one.
As for Querétaro (10th), the Gallos Blancos fell 0-4 to Lobos BUAP last weekend to give them their first loss of the season. Querétaro is still perfect on the road, however, and they’ll look to rebound from last weekend’s embarrassing loss here. They’ll have the advantage of some extra rest as they were not active in midweek, but their defense may be hard-pressed to cope with Tigres’ attack.
León vs Cruz Azul – 8:06 PM – Univision / Univision Deportes
León (18th) fell 3-1 to Toluca last weekend to remain winless in the Apertura season. La Fiera have suffered back-to-back losses – allowing three goals in each – and they will now look to shore up their back line as they return to the Nou Camp for this one. León will also need to get their attack off the mark after scoring just once in their opening two games.
As for Cruz Azul (5th), La Máquina drew 1-1 with Chivas de Guadalajara last weekend to remain unbeaten this season. They played out a 1-1 draw in midweek as well as they tied Tigres in the Copa MX. Cruz Azul is also perfect on the road in league play, and they’ll look to keep their unbeaten run alive – and add to León’s misery – with another good result here. They will be without the suspended Adrián Aldrete, however.
América vs Pumas UNAM – 10:00 PM – Univision
América (8th) beat Pachuca 0-2 last weekend to earn their first win of the season. The Águilas are winless at home, though, which they will look to remedy here – although they also fell in the Estadio Azteca in midweek, where they lost 0-1 to Atlas in the Copa MX. In addition, they’ll be without the suspended Guido Rodríguez for this one.
As for Pumas UNAM (9th), the universitarios fell 2-1 to Atlas last weekend to give them their first loss of the season. They are winless in two in all competitions now after they played out a 1-1 draw with Celaya in the Copa MX in midweek. Pumas are perfect at home in the Estadio Universitario, though, and they’ll look to get back to winning ways in this one.
Chivas de Guadalajara vs Necaxa – 10:06 PM – Univision Deportes
Chivas de Guadalajara (12th) drew 1-1 with Cruz Azul last weekend to remain both unbeaten and winless in league play. They picked up a big win in midweek, though, with a comfortable 4-2 victory against FC Juárez in the Copa MX. They’ll look to carry that momentum back into league play as they look to extend their unbeaten streak. They’ll be without the suspended Edwin Hernández for this one, though.
As for Necaxa (2nd), the Rayos beat Tijuana 1-0 last weekend to remain perfect this season. They won in the Copa MX in midweek as well, where they beat Mineros de Zacatecas 1-2. Miguel Ángel Ponce, who scored in that game, will be suspended for this one after picking up a red card in the Rayos’ last league game, but Necaxa will look to keep their winning streak alive nevertheless.
