Francisco Palencia Parts Ways with Pumas UNAM

After their Jornada 6 loss to Monarcas Morelia on Tuesday, Pumas UNAM wasted no time in announcing the departure of Francisco “Paco” Palencia as head coach of the universitarios.

Palencia took over as coach in the Apertura 2016 and leaves the club with a record of 15 wins, seven draws, and 20 losses.

Pumas have had a poor start to the Apertura 2017 and currently sit in 14th – pending the rest of the Jornada 6 matches – with six points and a 2-0-4 record.

Sergio Egea has been named interim head coach of the club.
