The visitors started the game off well and enjoyed the majority of possession. Then, in the 20th minute, Alonso Zamora was called for a foul on Mauro Boselli inside the box, giving León a penalty kick. Boselli himself stepped up to take it and he converted it to make it 0-1.
With the lead, León sat back to manage the game. Puebla began to have more possession, but they were hard-pressed to do anything with it.
In the second half, the Poblanos began to look a bit more dangerous and they created a few chances to tie the game. Christian Marrugo and Brayan Angulo had the best opportunities for La Franja, but the final touch was lacking.
In the end, the lone goal held up for León, while Puebla’s struggles continue.
With the 0-1 win, León reaches seven points while Puebla still has five.
