Toluca vs Querétaro – 1:00 PM – Univision Deportes
Toluca (4th) drew 0-0 with Santos Laguna last weekend to remain unbeaten in two but winless on the road this season. The Diablos Rojos will look to get back to winning ways when they return home to the Estadio Nemesio Diez, where they are unbeaten in the Apertura. Toluca has been inconsistent this season, though; they’ve scored three goals in multiple games but have also been shutout four times; they’ve posted four clean sheets but have also given up four goals in one game.
As for Querétaro (12th), the Gallos Blancos fell 1-2 to León last weekend to remain winless in four. They’re unbeaten on the road this season, though, and they’ll look to get back to winning ways when they visit Toluca in this one. Querétaro is averaging less than a goal a game, but they’ll look to take advantage of Toluca’s inconsistent defending here.
Veracruz vs Lobos BUAP – 7:30 PM – Univision Deportes
Veracruz (10th) fell 2-0 to América last weekend to extend their road losing streak to two games. The Tiburones Rojos are unbeaten in three at home, though, and they also picked up a win in midweek with a 3-1 victory against Alebrijes de Oaxaca in the Copa MX. They need to keep winning to improve their positioning in the relegation standings, and a win in this one would be especially valuable as they’re facing a relegation rival.
As for Lobos BUAP (13th), the licántropos fell 1-3 to Monarcas Morelia last weekend to give them back-to-back losses and keep them winless in five. After a very strong start to the season, the newly-promoted side has lost steam in a major way and they now find themselves sitting in last place in the Tabla de Cociente. Lobos have one of the strongest attacking records in the league – they’re averaging nearly two goals a game – but it’s been their defense that has been their undoing. They have a better goal difference on the road than at home, though, and they’ll look to earn another away win in this one.
