It didn’t take the hosts long to take the lead. In the 5th minute, Andrés Mosquera sent a cross into the box for Mauro Boselli, whose header made it 1-0. That goal was Boselli’s hundredth career goal for León.
Another header increased León’s lead to 2-0 in the 23rd minute. Elías Hernández sent a cross in from the right and Luis Montes finished it off with a diving header to put La Fiera comfortably in control.
Just minutes later, it was 3-0. Andrés Andrade took the ball from midfield into the box before beating Óscar Pérez to put the game out of reach for Pachuca before the half-hour mark.
The Tuzos looked for a response in the second half, and they were able to reduce the deficit in the 51st minute. William Yarbrough couldn’t deal with a corner kick and Ángelo Sagal finished off the loose ball to make it 3-1.
However, Pachuca was unable to build on that goal as they slumped to a third consecutive defeat.
With the 3-1 win, León reaches 13 points while Pachuca still has nine.
