Following Puebla’s Jornada 11 loss to Atlas, the club wasted no time in announcing the departure of coach Rafael “Chiquis” García.
Club Puebla reports:
In a brief statement shared via social media, Puebla reported that García was no longer coach, effective immediately. The club thanked him for his effort and wished him luck in his future projects.
García leaves with Puebla sitting 18th in the league table with a 1-4-5 record and 15th in the relegation standings with just a five-point lead over last-placed Veracruz.
The new coach will be named in the next few days; in the meantime, Ignacio Sánchez Barrera will serve as interim head coach, with Sigifredo Mercado as assistant coach.
