León extended their winning streak to four games with a comfortable 0-3 victory against Lobos BUAP. The result ends a two-game winning streak for the licántropos and extends their home losing streak to three games.
The visitors started the game off strongly and they opened the scoring in the 19th minute. Luis Montes played in Elías Hernández, who chipped the onrushing keeper to make it 0-1.
Lobos were unable to react to falling behind, while León took advantage to run up the score. In the 35th minute, Hernández turned provider as he sent a cross in from the right for Mauro Boselli to head past Jorge Villalpando. 0-2.
La Fiera put the game completely out of reach in the 40th minute. Andrés Andrade’s initial shot was blocked by the goalkeeper, but the ball then went off the crossbar before falling for Elías Hernández, who made it 0-3 with his second goal of the night.
In the second half, León had a number of chances to add to their lead, while Lobos struggled to find a reaction, somehow contriving to waste two penalty kicks in a two-minute span to keep León comfortably ahead.
In the 86th minute, the hosts received a dubious penalty kick, but Jonathan Fabbro saw his attempt saved by William Yarbrough. A minute later, Lobos earned another penalty after Luis Advíncula was fouled. The Peruvian stepped up to take it himself, and he blasted it against the crossbar.
