Monarcas Morelia vs León – Jornada 14 Recap and Highlights

Neither team could find the breakthrough in this one as Monarcas Morelia and León played out a 0-0 draw that featured two missed penalties. The result ends a three-game winning streak for the michoacanos but keeps them unbeaten in four, while La Fiera are now winless in two.

Morelia won a penalty in just the second minute of the game when Nacho González was called for a foul on Gabriel Achilier following a corner kick. Raúl Rudíaz stepped up to take the spot kick, but he sent it against the post to keep it 0-0.

Despite that miss, Morelia continued to have the better of the run of play and they created quite a few chances, although William Yarbrough was up to the task of stopping them.

In the second half, León began to press forward with more dynamism and they won a penalty of their own in the 59th minute when Mauro Boselli was fouled in the box. Boselli stepped up to take the spot kick himself, but Sebastián Sosa made the save to preserve the draw.

The game became end to end in the final stanza as both teams looked to grab a winner. Elías Hernández and Boselli for León and Rodolfo Vilchis and Ruidíaz for Morelia all looked dangerous up top, but in the end the teams had to settle for a share of the spoils.

With the 0-0 draw, Morelia and León both reach 23 points.
