Necaxa earned their second consecutive win with a comprehensive 5-0 thrashing of Lobos BUAP. The result keeps the Rayos unbeaten at home in six, while the licántropos have lost four of their last five.
Necaxa took the lead in the 12th minute after Carlos González and Martín Barragán combined, with the Paraguayan finishing off the play to make it 1-0.
Five minutes later, Barrgán got on the scoresheet. Mario de Luna met a corner kick at the near post and back-heeled it on for Barragán to finish off. 2-0.
In the 43rd minute, González scored his second of the night – again with an assist from Barragán – to make it 3-0 and put the game completely out of reach for an over-matched Lobos side.
The visitors tried to reduce the deficit in the second half, but instead Necaxa took advantage of a counterattack to run the score up further. In the 54th minute, the ball went from end to end as Marcelo Barovero started the counter with a throw to Barragán, who played in Miguel Ángel Ponce. Ponce returned the favor and Barragán completed his brace to make it 4-0.
In the 64th minute, the unfortunate César Cercado headed the ball into his own net to give Necaxa a 5-0 lead with his own-goal.
There was no way back for Lobos, and the Rayos cruised to a comfortable and convincing victory.
With the 5-0 win, Necaxa reaches 24 points while Lobos still have 17.
