Disciplinary Report: Apertura 2017 Week 15

The Disciplinary Committee has suspended eight players, upheld a red card appeal, and opened an investigation into a coach in the aftermath of this weekend’s Jornada 15 games.

Alexander Mejía of León and Jaine Barreiro of Atlas were given one-game suspensions for denial of a clear goal-scoring opportunity, while Osvaldo González of Toluca and Nicolás Castillo of Pumas UNAM were suspended one game for a lack of respect towards the match officials.

Ángel Mena of Cruz Azul was suspended one game for receiving two yellow cards in the same game, while Cristian Pellerano of Veracruz and Sebastián Loeschbor of Monarcas Morelia were suspended for yellow-card accumulation after receiving their fifth cautions of the season.

Additionally, Neri Cardozo of Monterrey was given a one-game suspension for serious foul play.

Veracruz filed a petition of non-conformity regarding the red card given to Guido Milán, and after analyzing the evidence the Disciplinary Committee concurred that the card was given erroneously. Milán is cleared to play in Veracruz’s next game.

Finally, the Disciplinary Committee has opened an investigation into América coach Miguel Herrera regarding an obscene gesture he allegedly made toward the crowd in América’s game against Monterrey.
